BIOECONOMY PROJECT

ARCADIA SIT is a partner in the European consortium for the provision of services in the field of GIS and remote sensing, within the DESIS and DIGIT framework contract, the project is developed by JRC - IES - Institute for Environment and Sustainability / Land Management and Natural Hazards Unit.

The JRC Bioeconomy project, the results of which are in part publicly available through the Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy, supports the Action Plan of the European Commission's updated Bioeconomy Strategy.

It assesses the supply, uses, flows and sustainability of European and global biomass and addresses the impacts of biomass production and use, competition and synergies between sectors for biomass resources.

It also models and analyses scenarios and projections of future biomass availability, demand, flows and their impacts.
